Is the Symposium an accredited conference?
Yes. The full accreditation statements are published for various disciplines in the fall Psychiatric Symposium Brochure.
- UT College of Medicine is accredited by ACCME to provide CME for physicians and advanced nurses
- University of Tennessee Medical Center is accredited to provide CE for nurses
- NASW – TN Chapter is accredited to provide CE for social workers
- Tennessee Association of Mental Health Center Organizations is accredited to provide CE for Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselors
Note: Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist sand other professionals not listed: Attendance at educational events sponsored by national, state, regional or local professional associations in the field; or events related to the practice of the profession for which a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education grants CEUs – each person must retain proof of attendance and completion of all CE requirements. This documentation must be retained for a period of four (4) years from the end of the calendar year in which the CE was acquired. CE certificates will be provided by NASW – TN to Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and other professionals not listed.
How do I get a copy of my certificate from a previous years’ Symposium?
Send an e-mail to symposium@mhaet.com with your name, days attended, credentials/certification needed, and if you attended an ethics session.
Lunch & Learn
I forgot to sign up to attend the Lunch & Learn – can I still go?
Check in at the sponsor’s table in the Registration/Exhibit Hall and ask sponsor staff. Thursday’s Lunch & Learn is sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Friday’s Lunch & Learn is sponsored by Axsome.
I work for a pharmaceutical company that did not sponsor a Lunch & Learn. Can I still go?
No – the host sponsors have exclusive control of the attendees at their “product theater” event
Why are Lunch & Learn sessions not eligible for CME or CE?
These are promotional / educational lunches hosted by the sponsor. Educational content has not been verified for fairness and balance by the College of Medicine and has been prepared by the sponsor
Receipts
Can I get a receipt?
Receipts are sent through PayPal. You may need to check your spam folder. If you still can’t find it, e-mail symposium@mhaet.com or see the help desk at the live event.
Pumping
Is there a pumping room at the Convention Center?
Yes – go down the escalator at the end of the Exhibit Hall. Turn right and the pumping rooms are under the escalator
What should I do if the doors to the pumping rooms are locked?
The room could be occupied by another pumping or nursing parent, so waiting may be required. However, if no one is occupying the pumping room and it is locked, you can see the help desk to contact the Convention Center to unlock it. You can all text or call the Symposium number 865-500-0313.
Where can I store my breast milk?
Ask for assistance at the help desk.
Other Questions
Where are the vending machines?
Vending machines are located on the same floor as Exhibit Hall A on the side of the floor as if you were walking toward the Tennessean and Mariott hotels. However, they are not readily available for purchases.
Where can I park?
Parking is not included in your Symposium registration. Paid parking is available surrounding the Convention Center. Some options for parking are the Locust Street Garage, Marriott garage, Bank of America parking, State Street Garage, Market Square garage.
When are snacks coming out?
Snacks are provided during break times from 10 AM to 10:30 AM and again at 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM
Can I get a list of exhibitors?
I can’t come tomorrow anymore – can someone else take my place?

Where can I charge my phone?
There are charging stations located throughout the exhibit hall. Wellpoint is the sponsor of the charging stations for the 2026 Symposium. Look for the high-top tables with posters indicating they are charging tables.
